Our Bedroom Makeover

Hello Everyone,
We have enjoyed the most amazing weather here the last few days. It was sunny and 25 degrees celsuis here today. The past two days were record breaking temperatures and wiped out a lot of our snow.
Anyway, I have pictures to share of our bedroom makeover today. It was a big change for this room and for awhile I wasn't sure if it was going to come together or not but now I love it!
The toile Mare Antoinette quilt I had for a few years but used it in a different room and even in our little cottage at Christmas as some of you may remember. The gauzy cream curtains I made from fabric I bought at a thrift shop a few months ago. I love the romantic look they give the room. The gothic style mirror I bought at Homesense.
This lingerie dresser came from Coulson's in Summerside and got a few coats of paint over the brown stain that it was when we bought it.

There are lace curtains on the window but They are washed out in my photo. Our bedroom is upstairs so the door leads out onto a big balcony that you can see here.
The brass on the fireplace is going to get a couple of coats of black heat resistant paint tomorrow so it will blend in.
This is before the mirror went up.
This was the look yesterday and I still have a little teaking to do.
The pine armoire to the left has been painted too.

The dresser was pine before and we had it for several years.I think it was a good change.
If you would like to see the bedroom before check it out here.Where I enjoyed the warm cozy look for awhile-it started to look to busy lately-must be the influence of so many beautiful calm white rooms I am seeing around blogland.!.The color on the walls is Cottage White by Behr in case you are interested. I have had a few people lately ask about pinning my pictures on pinterest and yes that is fine with me as long as they link back it is all good!

Well, what do you think -do you like it?

I am joining French Country Cottage for Feathered Nest Friday and My Romantic Home for Show and Tell Friday today.

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

Just Peachy!

Hello everyone,
Can you believe that today is the last day of winter? I for one am happy to welcome spring tomorrow and so far it is looking like we will get an earlier spring this year with the temperature going up into the high teens for a couple of days! I took a little stroll around the garden-well the parts that are not snow covered anyway and I saw some daffodils poking up and some little snowdrops blooming!!!
I was feeling peachy today so I am joining Tea Time today at Rose Chintz Cottage. I love my pretty peach roses above..
I am using my Country Rose china by Skye Mc Ghie today.

Biscuits and tea make a nice little treat.

.Now,that things are back to normal around here I am back to working on our bedroom makeover and it is finally starting to look better. I made some curtains for around the bed today but I still have the little touches to do and a bit of painting before I can show it to you. I am hoping to be done soon so I can finish up my spring cleaning before garden season arrives. We have some tours booked from Japan again starting in June so it is a good incentive to get things done early.

Don't forget it is Tea Time Tuesday at Rose Chintz Cottage today-Thank you Sandi for hosting!

Thank you for joining me for tea today!

I'm Back!

Hello everyone,
How are you all doing? I haven't been around here for awhile as I spent an unexpected week in the hospital and just got home last evening. I am feeling good as new now and am so happy to be back home!
Today,I want to share with you a little information about  Novica a company that features artisans from Third World countries that sent me this beautiful hammock to review on my blog.I have always loved these hammocks with the lacy trim and was happy to learn that though Novica  these talented artisans can earn a living. They do not just make hammocks but clothing, jewelry and things for the home too so I hope you will take a few minutes and check them out.

Soft cotton threads are patiently hand-woven into a spacious hammock. Utilizing ancestral techniques, skilled artisans create this beautiful work and adorn its edges with long fringe, crocheted and knotted by hand. From Maya Artists of the Yucatan, its twin stretchers are carved from pinewood.
Now as you can see from the photos the hammock is lovely but the weather is not yet conducive to lounging in a hammock just yet- but I am really looking forward to be lulled to sleep cocooned in my soft and comfy hammock under the stars on warm summer nights! You might also want to check out these links from Novica -Pendant Bracelets

Thank you to those of you who sent emails expressing concern over my absence. In a couple of days I should be back into the swing of things.

Have a lovely weekend,

Carolyn
