Summer Afternoon Tea

 Hello everyone,
We had some rain yesterday nd overnight-hope you did too if you were in need of it. Today, however, was another sunny day so I decided to have tea out on the veranda .
My daughter  and I went to a couple of yard sales and I spotted this unique little teapot.Since it was only $5 I couldn't resist.

I made some raisin scones but also some strawberry whole wheat scones

A few roses in a pretty pitcher add extra enjoyment for an afternoon tea.

I also found this pretty teacup at the thrift shop last week. I love the lilacs inside it.
I hope you enjoyed sharing some afternoon tea with me today. Tomorrow is supposed to be another beautiful day so I plan to get up early to take some photos of the garden there is a lot I  want to share with you. The daylilies are beautiful now and the phlox is starting to bloom too..

Thank you for stopping by,

Carolyn

Garden Respite

 Hello everyone,
I have a pleasant spot today for you to sit in the garden under the mockorange where you can enjoy the fragrance. There are also lots of fragrant roses nearby.

I love this beautiful varigated mockorange. It is outside the window from my computer so for a couple of weeks it I can enjoy it inside as well. I took these photos a couple of weeks ago so the mock orange is past now but blooming right under the window where I am sitting in a fragrant hydrangea White Dome-buy one if you have the chance-you won't be dissappointed. I will have to pick a bouquet to share with you soon.

I picked a few pretty bouquets for your enjoyment as well.
The Queen of Denmark ,Erfurt and The Fairy rose make up part of this bouquet.

This is a mixed bouquet of Tahiti Moon, Golden Celebration and I believe The Pilgrim.

Relax for awhile and take in the beauty and the fragrance of the mockorange and the roses on this sunny summer day. We are supposed to get rain this afternoon-so needed for the garden and the farmers crops.

Thank you for visiting,

Carolyn

A Garden Party

 Hello everyone,
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Last week  I was happy to be able to go with a friend to a beautiful Garden Party at Government House the home of our Lieutenant Governor.
I am having a little chat with Her Honour Dorothy Lewis out in front as they welcomed guests.Notice the lovely view in background of the Charlottetown harbour.. Thank you Mayumi for this nice shot!
There was a big tent where food was served and lots of roses in bloom.

They have mostly hybrid teas in the rose garden.

Lots of nice food and punch was served.

There were lots of people in attendance and the food was totally enjoyed.
People admired the beautiful gardens and many were taking photos.
This is the garden last year in August. You can get a better look without so many people.

Music in the Garden

It was a lovely Garden Party on a beautiful sunny day. Hope you enjoyed coming along with me.

Thank you for visiting,
Carolyn

A Garden Stroll

Hello Friends
Come with me for a little stroll around the garden with me today. There is lots of color and the garden  will soon be at it's peak as far as color goes anyway.

The east side of our house just outside the baywindow.

I think this side has an English garden look to it with the virginia creeper going rampantly over the house.
The birdhouse is from Home goods.
The Jackmani clematis is loaded with blooms.

Everything has filled in nicely and in spite of the dry spring and summer is still holding up pretty good.

The tall blue spikes you see here are monkshood.

Another view of the Jackmani with Annebelle hydrangea.

The delpenium are still holding up well.
The Jackmani on the arbor leading to the doorway.
This clematis is out by the garden cottage.
This is from our walkway looking toward the barn.
 Down is the Allee garden

Here you can see the hydrangea blooming with the mockorange in the background.

Some lovely roses blooming in our garden.

I hope you enjoyed a little stroll through the garden on this lovely July day.

Enjoy your weekend!

Carolyn
